In his information technology and intellectual property law practice, Andrew has experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements and documents relating to:
Andrew also provides advice on legal matters relating to:
- Canadian anti-spam law (CASL)
- the use of the Internet, and
- consumer protection
Andrew was the primary drafter of the “Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)” chapter in Business Laws of Canada (published by West, a Thomson Reuters business), and he is one of two co-authors of the “E-Commerce” chapter in the same publication. He is also a frequent contributor to the Information & Technology Law Newsletter published by Carswell, as well as other publications.
From 2012 to 2015, Andrew served as the inaugural Chair of the Canadian IT Law Association (IT.Can) Public Affairs Forum.
From 2006 to 2012, Andrew served as the Public Affairs Liaison (formerly the Advocacy and Government Relations Liaison) for the Information Technology and Electronic Commerce Section of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA).
In 2008-2009, Andrew served as the Chair of the Toronto Computer Lawyers’ Group (TCLG), an organization he spent five years with in various Executive Committee roles.
