Throughout his 11 years of legal practice, Andrew has received various positive feedback from his clients, peers and mentors.

Andrew is a most honourable and sincere individual, with a straightforward, open personality. He feels strongly about justice, in the broadest sense of the word and, if he undertakes a commitment, he will see it through to its successful conclusion.

While his specialty has been Intellectual Property, I have seen him adapt to other areas of the law. He picks up those other areas quickly and efficiently. He is able to dedicate himself singularly to whatever particular undertaking he assumes. His prowess with computers and IT assist him greatly in utilizing his substantial research abilities and in organizing matters. Importantly, his research has led to practical conclusions, some of which have been novel and of great assistance in solving difficult problems.

Understandably, Andrew has taken positive actions in matters relating to civil rights and has demonstrated substantial success in that regard.

I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew for any position for which he may apply.

Donald Carr, O.Ont., Q.C., J.D., L.H.D.
December 2015

[Donald Carr was called to the Ontario Bar in 1951, was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1964, was appointed to the Order of Ontario in 2006, and his professional accomplishments have been recognized by several noteworthy publications, including Best Lawyers in Canada, Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, and Martindale-Hubbell.]

Following the presentation of the CASL [Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation] program, the OBA retained Mr. Sprague to provide advice on the measures that our Association should take in order to be compliant with the new requirements. Andrew provided OBA staff with clear, understandable advice on what could be done and what could not be done following the implementation date of July 1st. He also assisted the Association in developing a plan to maximize our ability to reach out to non-members following the CASL implementation date, without running afoul of the Regulations. Andrew provided all of this advice and assistance in circumstances where there was a great deal of ambiguity about how the Statute and related Regulations would be interpreted and applied – and he has continued to keepu us apprised of newly released interpretation documentation, issued by the relevatn federal government agencies.

I have no hesitation in confirming that Andrew is more than capable of providing very competent, comprehensive, advice on both the implications of CASL and the actions required to comply with the limitations imposed by this legislation. I also have no hesitation in saying that the advice and assistance that Andrew provided to the OBA, was excellent.
